Head of Mathematics

We are seeking an inspirational and committed Head of Mathematics to lead our well-established and hardworking Maths team in a happy, growing, and improving 11–18 secondary school in Wales.This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious practitioner to shape the future of Mathematics and Numeracy at Heolddu Comprehensive school, with clear scope to teach and lead up to A Level Mathematics and make a meaningful impact on outcomes for pupils.

About the role:
As Head of Mathematics, you will:
Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership of the Mathematics department
Inspire and support a well-established, dedicated team of teachers
Lead curriculum development from Key Stage 3 through to A Level Mathematics
Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement
Use data effectively to drive improvement and raise attainment
Contribute positively to the wider life and leadership of the school
The ideal candidate will:
Be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge
Have the ability to teach and lead GCSE and A Level Maths
Demonstrate effective leadership skills for middle leadership
Be committed to professional learning and continuous improvement
