Project Engineer Industry: United Utilities AMP 8 Framework, Water Sector Contract Type: Permanent Summary: We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to oversee and manage civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering aspects within the United Utilities AMP 8 framework. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams across civils, mechanical, electrical, and utilities projects, ensuring delivery aligns with client requirements, industry standards, and contractual obligations. The successful candidate will manage the full project lifecycle from design through construction, including programme development, procurement support, health and safety compliance, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for driving project progress on site and in the office, liaising with clients, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Experience in civil engineering, mechanical and electrical disciplines, and utilities infrastructure is essential to succeed in this role. Skills: Proven project management experience (minimum 5 years preferred) Strong knowledge of civil engineering, mechanical, electrical, and utilities disciplines Experience within United Utilities AMP 8 or similar water sector frameworks Ability to develop and implement construction programmes Health and Safety management including SMSTS and First Aid at Work Contract and commercial awareness, including NEC contracts Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Competence in quality assurance and site inspection processes Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams Proficient in risk management and change control processes Software/Tools: Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Project) Primavera P6 or equivalent project scheduling software AutoCAD or similar design software (desirable) BIM software familiarity (desirable) Certifications & Standards: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – required CSCS card – required First Aid at Work – required Degree or HNC/HND in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations Experience with NEC contracts and construction health and safety standards
