Overview
Glyder ward is an 18‑bedded Cardiology Ward where a senior nurse will deliver high quality, safe and compassionate care within a specialist cardiac environment. Patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions – including heart failure, arrhythmias, post‑angiography and complex medical cases – are cared for on this ward.
Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day management of the ward, including staff leadership, workforce planning, quality improvement and maintaining high standards of patient safety and experience.
* Provide strong clinical and operational leadership, ensuring excellence in patient experience, safety and staff development.
* Lead on the delivery of excellent nursing care and promote a positive patient and staff experience.
* Work closely with the multi‑disciplinary team, consultants, heads of nursing, matrons and other ward managers.
* Manage the twenty‑four hour nursing service on the medical ward, overseeing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care programmes for all patients within the area, and be accountable for the quality of care delivered by nursing staff.
* Work collaboratively and co‑operatively with others to develop services for patients in the clinical area.
Qualifications & Skills
* Senior nursing experience in a Cardiology or acute setting.
* Leadership and managerial skills, with a strong clinical presence.
* Excellent communication, forward‑thinking approach and a passion for delivering quality care.
* Desirable to speak Welsh; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.
