Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Practice Nurse to join our GP Surgery in Huddersfield on a full-time, permanent basis. As part of our team, you will play an essential role in providing high-quality care to our patients, including general treatment room duties and chronic disease management. The role is suitable for a registered nurse with experience or those who are looking to further develop their skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Full training will be provided on our systems and specific duties, ensuring you have the support needed to succeed in the role. The practice offers a welcoming and professional environment where staff development and patient care are our top priorities.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide treatment room services, including wound care, immunisations, blood pressure monitoring, and other general nursing tasks.

Support chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD) under the supervision of the GPs.

Assist with health screening and preventative care (e.g., health checks, smoking cessation, weight management).
*
Conduct cervical smear tests and other routine screenings.
*
Provide advice to patients on lifestyle changes and general health promotion.
*
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
*
Liaise with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
*
Manage your own workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
*
Contribute to the development of practice protocols and clinical standards.
*
Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance professional skills.
Requirements:
*
Registered Nurse with valid NMC pin.
*
Previous experience in a GP surgery or similar healthcare setting is desirable, but not essential.
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*
Good IT skills and willingness to learn new systems.
*
Passionate about patient care and the healthcare service.

Must be able to start immediately.
Desirable:

Experience with chronic disease management.
*
Experience with treatment room duties, such as wound care, immunisations, and cervical screening.
*
Knowledge of GP systems (training will be provided).
