* Role: Facilities Maintenance Assistant
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week (occasional out-of-hour cover required)
* Salary: £25,913.41

Responsibilities
* Undertake preventive maintenance duties in the resident’s apartments and in the communal areas.
* Be pro-active in the management of void properties, ensure water quality checks and general repairs are undertaken.
* Work with contractors on-site to improve knowledge of systems and to ensure that they are working to risk assessments provided.
* Record repair requests and defects.
* Attend site on a rota basis in the event of an emergency situation outside of your normal working hours.
* Carry out a handy-person service for the residents, anything from picture hanging to assembling flat pack furniture.
Person specification
* Ideally, a facilities background in a multi-dwelling building.
* Skills in carpentry and plumbing.
* Flexible to support the village during emergency situations and outside of normal working hours as required on a rota basis.
* Take responsibility for the repairs and maintenance service with your team on-site.
* Have a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel to maintain a system for logging maintenance requests.
* Be reliable, punctual, and able to work unsupervised.
* Able to demonstrate strong communication skills including empathy.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Committed to health and safety. COSHH or IOSHH desirable.
