Finance Business Partner - Special Projects - (2 year FTC)

Reporting directly to the Finance Director (Special Projects) with a secondary reporting line to the relevant Business Unit Finance Director, this role will coordinate the timely delivery of all finance inputs required from the Business Unit in support of LGC’s strategic planning and development programs.
The finance inputs and timing will be determined by Group Finance, in consultation with Business Unit Finance Directors. This role will deliver these either directly or through the relevant Business Unit Finance team and/or Analytics business partners, with final signoff by the Business Unit Finance Director.
The role involves interaction with senior stakeholders, including Group and Business Unit Finance teams, SLT members, other functions, and external advisors, to ensure comprehensive financial support for strategic initiatives and due diligence processes.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Developing detailed financial forecasts and models for strategic planning.
2. Explaining key performance trends across financial statements.
3. Supporting strategy development in areas like e-commerce, regional growth, and new product development.
4. Analyzing headcount, costs, and efficiency gains.
5. Supporting commercial due diligence with market and customer data analysis.
6. Reviewing M&A track record and synergy delivery.
The role also involves preparing responses to investor Q&A and supporting due diligence activities. The ideal candidate is an experienced M&A professional with strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills, capable of working independently and managing multiple stakeholders.
Specific requirements include:
* Degree: 1st or 2.1
* M&A transaction experience, including due diligence and integration.
* Qualified accountant.
* Strong reporting, analytical, and advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
