Job Purpose

Responsible for implementing sections of functionality or making updates to existing features, ensuring that they are delivered on time with the correct approach, and to the standards defined by the development leads.

Our tech stack includes some of the latest design patterns and tools as well as established tech that needs additional features building on. For example, SQL, NoSQL, caching services, messaging services, C# Windows Services, WebAPI, WCF, WPF, Winforms - all used to build a groundbreaking platform that has integration to internal and external services.

Job Duties

1. Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C# and other technologies

2. Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code that meets the requirements of the project

3. Debug and resolve software issues, including fixing bugs and optimizing performance

4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Designers, Testers, and Project Managers, to deliver high-quality software

5. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers

6. Implement and follow software development processes, including Agile and Scrum methodologies

7. Stay up-to-date with new technologies and programming languages, and apply this knowledge to improve software development processes

8. Document software design, code, and test procedures

9. Participate in the estimation of software development projects

10. Participate in customer and end-user interactions to gather requirements and provide support

11. Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including user manuals and help systems

12. Mentor Junior Developers and assist with their professional development.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

13. Existing .NET with C# development experience working on commercial systems

14. Awareness of design patterns and principles and be hungry to learn!

15. A good grounding in C# OOP programming

16. Keen attention to detail is a must for thorough testing of your work

17. Demonstrable experience of building Web Services, WebAPI and WCF

18. Database experience, schema design and SQL with MySQL

19. Experience with N-Tier architecture/SOA

20. Knowledge of relevant design patterns

21. Excellent understanding of OOP concepts

22. Expertise in performance optimisation

23. Experience of Unit and functional testing is important, not necessarily strict TDD

24. Source Control, must be confident using Git for all roles

25. Experience working in an Agile or Kanban environment

26. An excellent communicator, both verbal and written

27. Hard working and willing to go above and beyond learning new skills

28. Love working as part of a team and collaborating with others

29. An interest in troubleshooting and problem-solving

30. Participate in releases, and/or out-of-hours on-call availability as needed

Desirable

31. Knowledge of software and application design and architecture

32. A degree in Computer Science

33. AWS, Azure or GCP certification

34. Any history working with WinForms/WPF is extremely useful

35. NoSQL experience also beneficial
