CLINICAL NEGLIGENCE TRAINEE PARALEGAL/PARALEGAL
Job Title: Trainee Paralegal/Paralegal – Medical Negligence Department
Experience: 1–3 Years experience of Medical Negligence Cases
Based at: Skegness, Lincolnshire
Following successful completion of the probationary period, homeworking may be available for a maximum of 2 days per week. This is subject to the experience of the successful applicant
Salary: £22,250.00 - £26,000.00 – Subject to Experience
Hours of work: Full-time position Monday to Friday - 9.00am – 5.00pm
1. DETAILS OF THE ROLE
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Partner and Solicitors in the team, dealing with all levels of medical negligence claims.
You will conduct legal research, draft documents, liaise with clients, Counsel, medical experts and other professionals, and have responsibility for the vetting of new cases.
Subject to experience, you will run your own caseload of medical negligence claims, under supervision.
2. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE
In order to be considered for this role, your CV must reflect that you have a minimum of 1-years’ PQE or equivalent experience of assisting with medical negligence cases.
3. KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POST
This role will require candidates to:
* Have excellent communication skills, with the confidence and ability to provide clients with guidance and support;
* Have good medical knowledge in order to identify where a duty of care exists and advise where that duty has been failed;
* Have strong organisational and time-management skills, with an ability to prioritize your own workload;
* Have a working knowledge of compliance issues, code of conduct and account rules;
* You will have experience in supporting clients in difficult and distressing circumstances, showing empathy and compassion whilst at the same time providing excellent legal advice and client care;
* Have effective and decisive decision-making skills;
* Have a desire to network and promote the Company internally and externally;
* Be IT literate.
