1. Identifying and resolving issues reported by residents, including damp and mould inspections.
2. Undertaking stock condition surveys and assisting with future cyclical planned maintenance.
3. Making informed investment decisions about future works.
4. Performing fire risk assessments in blocks of flats (training provided).
5. Conducting safety and compliance checks and assessing risks.
6. Leading, managing, and developing the site staff team in line with WWHG values.
7. Supporting service delivery to residents by providing effective support to all departments and front-line staff.
We seek an experienced Property & Estates Management Officer with a background in a similar technical role within housing or a customer-focused environment. You will support our award-winning companies to make a positive impact on people's lives, homes, and communities across Cardiff and Penarth.
To succeed, you must be passionate about residents' wellbeing and proactive in delivering excellent customer service. A positive, flexible attitude and strong values aligned with WWHG are essential. As a confident communicator, you should prioritize customer engagement, including "What Matters" conversations with residents and "Have We Listened" consultations to inform decisions.
The ideal candidate will have a customer-focused, empathetic approach, capable of working independently and as part of a team. You should be organized, decisive, and possess technical knowledge, including diagnosing and resolving building defects and conducting property surveys. Excellent interpersonal skills are vital, as the role involves working directly with residents in their homes.
You should hold a Level 4 qualification in the Construction Industry or be willing to pursue one. Strong communication skills, a commitment to high-quality service, self-awareness, and a drive for continuous improvement are also valued. Proven experience in construction, housing associations, or similar roles, with the skills outlined in the role profile, is essential.
Please describe your skills, knowledge, and behaviors that make you a strong candidate. Include specific examples of relevant experience, qualifications, or training, and demonstrate how you meet the essential and desirable criteria.
