Cover Supervisor Role- Dereham About the Role We are seeking enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to join our network of secondary schools across Dereham (Norfolk). As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences by delivering pre-prepared lessons and managing classroom behaviour. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with prior classroom experience who are passionate about education. Key Responsibilities Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with the provided work. Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies. Support students with their learning where possible and encourage engagement. Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment. Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and classroom activity. Requirements Strong communication and organisational skills. Confidence to manage groups of young people aged 11–16. Ability to follow lesson plans and ensure learning continues in the teacher’s absence. Previous experience working with young people (in schools, youth groups, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring) is desirable. A degree or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential.
