* Banking Accounting Advisory (BAA) is a team of specialists with extensive experience delivering expert accounting advisory services, financial reporting, and regulatory change projects to major Tier-1 global banks, challenger banks, and building societies.

What will you be doing?
* Assist in managing client opportunities, deliver live engagements, and contribute to larger multidisciplinary teams.
* Respond to clients’ ad-hoc technical accounting queries.
* Analyze client transactions or structures, perform detailed technical accounting analysis, and write formal opinions on complex transactions.
* Assist senior management in advising clients on technical accounting issues and the impacts of new standards and regulations.
* Prepare and review client reports, presenting findings and recommendations.
* Support clients in implementing new accounting standards, delivering workshops, and reviewing assessments like IFRS 9.
* Contribute to business development, client targeting, and thought leadership, focusing on Financial Services, especially Banking.
* Research industry developments and participate in technical training.
What will you need to do it?
* At least 1 year of relevant accounting advisory experience within Financial Services, particularly Banking.
* Strong understanding of accounting standards related to financial instruments (IAS 39, IFRS 9, IFRS 7, IFRS 13, IAS 32, IFRS 16, IFRS 15).
* Practical experience applying these standards in Banking.
* Experience with IFRS 9 impairment, derivatives, or hedge accounting is desirable.
* Knowledge of non-financial instruments standards and deal accounting standards is advantageous.
* Understanding of UK and EU banking regulations and their interaction with IFRS, including regulatory reporting like FINREP.
* Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
Skills we’d love to see/Amazing Extras:
* Additional Financial Services experience, such as asset management, is a plus.
