We are seeking an experienced Operations Leader to join our team in Ashton.

The Operations Leader will be responsible for ensuring Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and People expectations are met while striving for Operational Excellence. This role involves collaboration with functions such as EHS, Quality, R&D, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and HR. The Operations Leader will report to the Operations Director and be a member of the UK Industrials Leadership Team.


Responsibilities

* Ensure a safe work environment and culture for employees and visitors, enforcing policies and procedures.
* Maintain adherence to quality standards and regulatory compliance.
* Operate the production department in an environmentally responsible manner.
* Set and deliver financial and non-financial budgets and forecasts.
* Monitor production costs, identify improvement areas, and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising safety or quality.
* Provide leadership and resources to ensure products and services meet company targets and customer specifications on time (OTIF).
* Establish and track KPIs to assess and improve manufacturing performance.
* Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency improvements.
* Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement.
* Manage resources efficiently, including materials, labor, equipment, and energy.
* Lead, coach, and develop the team to meet performance metrics.
* Report plant performance regularly to senior leadership, highlighting successes and areas needing attention.
* Drive cultural transformation to ensure employees understand and apply Mativ Values.
* Collaborate with HR on training, career development, succession planning, and employee relations.


Skills and Experience

* Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
* Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and cost optimization.
* Proficiency in manufacturing software, ERP/MRP systems (SAP), and data analysis tools.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology is advantageous.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
* Leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate diverse teams.
* Proven manufacturing and leadership experience, including Lean Manufacturing.
