Job Description

Our client is looking to recruit an Interim Financial Accountant on a 3-6-month contract to support their finance team through the year-end and get them set up for Audit. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in preparing statutory accounts, leading audit processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The position is based in the Brierley Hill, the role will require someone onsite 5 days a week.

What you'll do:

As a Financial Accountant, you will be instrumental in maintaining the company's financial health. Your primary responsibilities include preparing statutory accounts, leading audit processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will also prepare comprehensive financial reports on a regular basis. Your role extends beyond numbers as you identify areas for process improvement and collaborate effectively across departments.

* Prepare and review statutory accounts in line with accounting standards and regulations
* Lead the annual audit process, serving as the primary contact for external auditors
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards
* Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function
* Work closely with other finance team members to support business objectives

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Financial Accountant position brings a wealth of experience in accounting or finance. You possess an in-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and auditing standards. Your proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite will be essential for this role. Beyond technical skills, your excellent problem-solving abilities, strong organisational skills, and high attention to detail set you apart. Your ability to collaborate effectively across departments makes you a valuable addition to our team.

* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* Professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA) is required
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance
* In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and auditing standards
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
