Role Context:
Worley is looking for a Principal HVAC Engineer to join our project delivery operation based in our Aberdeen office.
You will join the Mechanical Engineering Department which provides concept, FEED and detailed design services for mechanical equipment. The Department consists of Rotating, Static and Packaged Equipment and Mechanical Handling sub-disciplines and also the HVAC and Metallurgy disciplines. Engineering positions typically involve the selection, specification, design and requisitioning of mechanical equipment.
Your skills and expertise will be utilised across a range of domestic and international projects, starting in the bid phase, continuing through to award, start up and execution.
You’ll be:
* Maintaining the required technical quality of work.
* Identifying scope and schedule changes in accordance with Change Control Process.
* Ensuring that design complies with the relevant procedures and regulations.
* Ensuring, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule.
* Preparing estimates and schedules and assisting in their review.
* Maintaining good communication with the client and visiting Assets when necessary.
* Encouraging and providing lateral learning within the department and projects.
* Committing to and promoting Worley values and ensuring the realisation of company and project health, safety, environmental, quality and ethics, systems, policies and procedures
You'll have:
* A Bachelors Degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject.
* Experience in engineering with sound technical background and expertise.
* Experience in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation.
* Experience in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline.
* Experience in coordinating HVAC activities within a multi-disciplinary environment.
* Experience with Client interface management within the HVAC discipline.
* Competent use of analytical methods used within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs.
* Ability to estimate work-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
* Experience in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work.
* Competency in design safety/environmental requirements, procedures and responsibilities for both self and subordinates.
* Knowledge and experience in the design and substantiation of ventilation systems.
* Demonstrable experience in a similar role / environment, with recent relevant exposure to work in the industry.
* Demonstrable experience to deliver HVAC designs at a Principal Level.
* Experience in the production of ventilation system design deliverables, i.e. Ventilation Flow Diagrams (VFD’s), Basis of Design (BoD), Plant Sizing Calculations (Heating / Cooling / Fan Sizing) Control Philosophy.
* Experience in delivery of written work including Equipment Specifications and Design Assessment Reports.

This role can be delivered by hybrid working with regular time working from home balanced with attendance at the Aberdeen office.
