Job Description
Grafton Recruitment is working with a large, market-leading services and engineering business to appoint an experienced Procurement Manager responsible for managing both direct and indirect procurement regionally.
The role involves overseeing inventory profiles and procurement of materials used by the organization, as well as facilities spend, fleet, and general indirect procurement. You will lead a team of procurement and inventory professionals.
This position offers opportunities for career development and progression, and will involve participation in company-wide transformation and implementation projects. A hands-on approach to supplier management, contracts, and price negotiation is essential, along with developing and implementing team strategies.
You will be responsible for:
1. Leading procurement activities within the region, identifying and delivering cost savings, sourcing suppliers and products, and negotiating and delivering contracts.
2. Engaging with internal stakeholders on projects and ensuring procurement processes are followed.
3. Managing, developing, and coaching a team of procurement professionals.
4. Implementing structured procurement policies, processes, and strategies, and identifying areas for improvement.
5. Managing supplier relationships, onboarding new suppliers, ongoing relationship management, supplier rationalization projects, and performance management.
6. Managing stock, overseeing New Product Introduction, phasing out end-of-life products, and optimizing inventory levels.
Requirements:
* Background in materials-based procurement, with experience in indirect procurement, including facilities, fleet, and corporate services.
* Experience managing teams of procurement professionals.
* Proven experience in sourcing and selecting suppliers, leading negotiations, and implementing procurement contracts and frameworks.
* Ability to promote a professional procurement approach within an organization.
* Skill in identifying cost-saving opportunities and developing strategies to achieve savings.
* Experience in managing a varied and complex inventory portfolio to optimize stock levels.
