Job title: Retail Security officer
Location: Ikea Glasgow, Scotland/Glasgow region
Pay rate: £13.10 per hour
Hours: Full time, 40 hours minimum per week, 5 days a week including weekends. Free parking and good access by public transport.
Employer: Mitie (Retail Loss Prevention for a prestigious client in the Sheffield area). A full background check will be completed including a full 5-year employment/education history. Ideally, you will already hold an SIA licence including CCTV; SIA training can be provided for the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
* Operations
o Be aware of and ensure compliance with all policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
o Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AIs).
o Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, familiarising yourself with changes and suggesting amendments to improve service levels.
o Be compliant with industry and statutory legislation (obtain a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision) which must be worn at all times. The Customer requires a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. Additional contractual courses may be required.
o Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
o Follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.
o Work in a systematic, methodical and orderly way.
* Training
o Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
o Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
o Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
o Renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
* Security and Health & Safety
o Look out for and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards on site.
o Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
o Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers.
o Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident for the Incident Report process.
o Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
o Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
o Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
