Senior MRI/CT Radiographer
Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital | Permanent contract | Full time • Up to £47,500 depending on experience • 37.5 hours per week
Job Overview
Deliver a high‑quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload, be highly proficient with all equipment within scope of practice, and supervise/develop junior colleagues. You will also be responsible for MRI safety, maintain equipment, participate in audits, support Clinical Lead Radiographers, and report faults in line with Nuffield Health policy. Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media is essential.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a high‑quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload.
* Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice.
* Work with leading practitioners and cutting‑edge practices, equipment and facilities.
* Supervise and develop junior colleagues.
* Responsible for MRI safety in line with local rules.
* Work within IRMER and own scope of practice in accordance with the HCPC code of conduct.
* Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programmes.
* Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers.
* Ensure equipment is safe, fit for purpose and report faults as per Nuffield Health policy.
* Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media is essential.
* Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedural changes.
* Comply with all Nuffield Health policies and procedures.
* Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
* Participate in on‑call rota.
Qualifications
* BSc degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent).
* Registered with the HCPC.
* Postgraduate qualification and high levels of technical knowledge.
* Experience in a wide variety of MRI scans, including Cardiac MRI and/or CT (highly desirable).
* Radiation Protection Supervisor training and qualification (desirable).
* Competency in intravenous cannulation and contrast media administration.
