Supported by our management team, you will provide leadership to our Food & Beverage Assistants, ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of our busy restaurant and lounge. We want to help you to develop your skills and offer an extensive range of learning and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will have worked in a busy hospitality environment and be able to provide an exceptional standard of service.
You can expect to work 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out of seven.
As a Supervisor you will have a flexible approach, as working patterns will include evenings and weekends as required.
This full‑time position offers a salary of up to £26,390 per annum.

About the role
* To take responsibility for the effective supervision of employees, to ensure an efficient operation and delivery of Hastings product and service standards.
* To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
* To ensure quality standards and procedures are fully understood and implemented, and daily checking procedures are fully applied.
* To ensure company policies relating to cash handling, stock control and stock ordering are implemented and monitored.
* To ensure employees receive the appropriate training and coaching to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
* To ensure employees work to trained standards, providing feedback to deliver effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
* To maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments and suppliers to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest satisfaction.
* To ensure the team are knowledgeable about the facilities and services within the hotel and are proactive in the sale of these to guests.
* To ensure you and the team assist guests with any reasonable request for hotel services.
* To ensure you and the team respond to complaints and find the appropriate solution.
* To ensure the security of the pre‑mises and storage areas is maintained at all times.
* To ensure the fixtures and equipment are properly maintained and presented to Hastings standards.
* To ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures.
* To ensure the hotel's compliance with all matters relating to licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and all other relevant legislation.
* To act as Duty Manager when required and respond to guest enquiries or elevate where appropriate.
* Any other duties as required by Management.

Required Criteria
* Right to work in the United Kingdom
* Educated to Level 2 (GSCE) or the equivalent with grades A‑C in English and Mathematics.
* Previous experience in a food and beverage role.
* A professional appearance.
* Ability to deliver an exceptional standard of customer service.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve success.
Desired Criteria
* Educated to Level 6 (Undergraduate Degree) or the equivalent, in a relevant field such as Tourism and Hospitality Management or working towards.
* Previous supervisory experience gained in a high‑quality establishment.
