What's involved with this role: Job Title: SEND Officer Ref: Bristol 5279338 and 5279335 Pay rate: £232.77 per day PAYE Role length: Anticipated 12 months Working arrangements: Fully remote DBS requirement: Enhanced DBS The role: We are seeking a dedicated SEND Officer to lead and coordinate a full caseload, often complex, of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) plans for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities. As a key point of contact for families and professionals, you will ensure that needs are identified early, appropriate support is arranged, and statutory responsibilities are met in line with the SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act. You will coordinate multi-agency input, lead on assessments and reviews, and help shape inclusive practice across education, health and social care. Knowledge of Liquid Logic systems would be beneficial. Key responsibilities include: Acting as the main liaison for children, young people, and families applying for or holding EHCPs Coordinating assessments and person-centred planning, ensuring outcomes are clearly identified and supported Supporting inclusive practice and advising settings on improving SEND provision Leading on EHCP reviews, statutory compliance, and personal budget monitoring Processing Annual Reviews to statutory timescales and attending Annual Reviews where appropriate Providing expert guidance to professionals and responding to queries or complaints Supporting service development, training, and strategic planning What the client is looking for: Minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience Strong experience in health, social care, or education, working with children and families—especially those with SEND Solid knowledge of key legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act Proven ability to provide advice, support, and best practice in Statutory SEND, Early Years/Primary Inclusion, or transitions to adulthood Skilled in empowering children, young people, and families to make informed decisions and aim for positive outcomes Experienced in coordinating multi-agency meetings Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet) with a willingness to learn new tech How to Apply: Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
