Straight-Line are currently hiring a Maintenance Electrician (Authorised Person Electrical) to join an Engineering department in Southampton. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all electrical systems on site through effective maintenance, testing, installation, and design activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and a commitment to high standards of safety and compliance. Key Responsibilities: * Act as Authorised Person Electrical (AP[E]), ensuring all electrical maintenance, installations, testing, and repairs are undertaken safely and in accordance with current IEE and statutory standards. * Perform planned and reactive maintenance on a range of systems, including electrical installations, HVAC, emergency lighting, and fire systems. * Undertake fault diagnosis and repair of electrical and mechanical breakdowns to maintain operational continuity. * Support the design, development, and installation of new electrical systems and control panels to enhance site infrastructure * Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across systems, equipment, and processes. * Assist with shutdowns, system upgrades, and emergency callouts, contributing to 24/7 operational support as needed * Utilise the CAFM system and helpdesk tools to manage work orders, track progress, and ensure all activities are completed to th...
