Overview
An exciting opportunity within an in-house legal team at a community and mental health NHS Trust. The team provides a comprehensive legal service across inquests, claims, employment, Court of Protection and general queries, supporting the host trust and a neighbouring acute trust. The role is based at 2 Kings Court, Worcester, with a hybrid pattern (up to 3 days in the office and up to 2 days from home). The team currently comprises 3 solicitors and 4 paralegals. This is a full‑time post; part‑time applications will be considered. Interviews are scheduled for 16 October 2025.
Responsibilities
* Lead on employment litigation and provide employment law advice.
* Support front line staff and develop relationships with staff at NHS trusts and external parties to deliver quality service.
* Cover other healthcare matters as needed, including inquests, claims, Court of Protection and confidentiality matters.
* Support and assist with a varied workload; respond to urgent queries and assist other staff as required.
Person Specification
Essential
* Solicitor or Barrister, or equivalent, with current ability to practise
* Significant experience in employment litigation and advocacy in Employment Tribunals
* Ability to analyse and advise on highly complex matters, both orally and in writing
* Sound knowledge of English Courts and Tribunal Services principles and processes
* Experience in dealing with Employment Law issues and complex matters
* Willingness to learn and contribute to other areas (inquests, claims, Court of Protection, healthcare queries)
* Flexible, collaborative team player willing to travel as required
Desirable
* Experience of other forms of healthcare litigation (e.g., Coroners Court, professional regulation, county court)
* Experience of working in Healthcare Law or a similar health/social care environment
Qualifications
* Qualified Solicitor or Barrister, or equivalent, with current practising status

* Salary: £55,690 to £62,682 per year, pro rata for part time
