Consultant in Critical Care Medicine

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our Critical Care team in Aberdeen.
Our combined Critical Care unit is one of the largest and busiest in Scotland, providing all aspects of organ support as well as being the commissioned national Respiratory ECMO centre. Within the department there is a strong commitment to service development, including an active Quality Improvement programme and there are well established links with the University of Aberdeen both in terms of teaching and research.
The clinical commitment is 75% Critical Care (6 DCC) and a 25% (2 DCC) commitment to be agreed with another complementary specialty or area such as Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine or additional Critical Care. An additional two sessions per week will be allocated for SPA.
Located on the North-East coast of Scotland, Aberdeen is a vibrant, friendly and cosmopolitan city with the benefit of quick and easy access to both its beautiful surrounding countryside and major UK and European destinations.
Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.
Alternatively, applicants should possess a CESR / CESR (CP).
Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made. Whilst in locum employment, an application to obtain a CESR / CESR (CP) and entry onto the Specialist Register can be made.
