Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and personable Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with product displays, and ensuring a welcoming shopping environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop organisational and sales skills within a dynamic retail setting. Candidates must be 18 years and older.
Working Hours
A Part time position is available in our store. Variable hours contract with a minimum of 15 hours per week. Applicants should be flexible to work mornings, afternoons and evenings, Monday to Sunday between 7am-8pm. Shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to discuss working hours and shift patterns in further detail at interview.
A look into the role
Reporting to the store Management team, you will assist in the efficient running of the store on a daily basis, ensuring that a high standard of customer service is achieved at all times.
Duties
* Operate all checkouts accurately, ensuring customer transactions are processed efficiently and in a timely manner.
* Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
* Provide detailed product information and answer customer queries confidently
* Maintain attractive merchandise displays through effective merchandising techniques
* Upsell products and promote special offers to maximise sales opportunities
* Manage stock levels, organise stockroom, and assist with inventory checks
* Ensure the shop floor remains clean, organised, and inviting at all times
* Assist in organising promotional events or seasonal displays as required
* Any other duties required for the role.
Skills
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
* Strong organisational skills to manage stock and maintain store presentation
* Basic maths skills for handling transactions and balancing tills accurately
* Good time management to prioritise tasks during busy periods
* Organisational skills to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.

Rate of pay
Exact rate of pay will be dependent on the age of the candidate in relation to the National Minimum Wage as set out by the government.
