Role Overview As a Data Engineer Coach, you’ll use your industry experience and understanding of apprenticeship programmes to guide learners. You’ll manage a caseload of learners, deliver workshops and training, track progress, and help apprentices develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours they need to succeed in their roles and assessments. With robust support and clear progression, you’ll grow in autonomy, responsibility, and impact while helping learners achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities & Role Expectations Data Engineer Coach Support Level 3–4 learners in building portfolios and preparing for end point assessments Assist with delivering training, workshops, and microteaches to develop skills and knowledge Track learner progress through 1:1 and group sessions using SMART and support off-the-job hours Build strong, collaborative relationships with learners, employers, and internal stakeholders Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliant delivery Support the growth and quality of apprenticeship provision under guidance Senior Data Engineer Coach Manage a caseload of up to 56 learners, delivering training, workshops, microteaches, and quarterly reviews Maintain high-quality programme standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance with awarding body requirements Facilitate technical workshops and personal development sessions throughout the apprenticeship Effectively manage personal training plans and attend standardisation meetings Track learner progress, milestones, and outcomes using SMART, ensuring timely achievement Build and maintain strong relationships with learners, employers, and internal stakeholders Maintain and update occupational knowledge and skills, and support ongoing programme growth Essential Skills & Experience Relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, PCET, AET) or experience in the digital/apprenticeship sector Proven experience delivering Data apprenticeships or hands-on experience in a Data role Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and challenge constructively Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities Flexible, resilient, and solutions-focused with logical problem-solving approach Confident using IT systems and databases Desirable Skills & Experience Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent industry experience Knowledge of Data Engineering, modern cloud platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake), data modelling, and coding languages Understanding of apprenticeship sector and standards Experience with stakeholder engagement, behaviour change, and sustainability strategy Confident in environmental and sustainability concepts, frameworks, and systems (ESG, net zero, Scope 1/2/3, ISO 14001) Our Benefits At Baltic, we’re committed to creating an environment where you can thrive – professionally, personally, and socially.
