Company Overview
We are looking for a Bagging Line Team Leader to join our team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a dependable and hardworking individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As Team Leader, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards within the team, ensuring targets are achieved, and overseeing day-to-day of bagging operations. In addition, you will at times, when required, be hands-on in filling aggregates and coal products into 10kg, 20kg, and 40kg bags using a semi-automated packing line.
The role will be Monday to Friday hours per week) with the potential for some overtime through the busy winter months.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate and oversee the semi-automated packing line, including bagging aggregates and coal products (10kg, 20kg, 40kg).
* Loading hoppers with bulk material.
* Maintain bays with loadall.
* Loading empty pallets and locating with forklift, in readiness for robot to pack.
* Shrink wrap loaded pallets, label appropriately and forklift to the destination before sale.
* Monitor team performance against targets, reporting any shortfalls to the Yard Manager.
* Maintain high standards of quality, efficiency, and health & safety on the packing line.
* Maintain a clean and safe working area.
* Perform quality checks to confirm bags are correctly sealed, the specified weight is achieved, and the bag meets our set standards.
* Act as a communication link between the Yard Manager, Managing Director, and Operations Director.
* Support and motivate team members to achieve daily and weekly targets.
* Carry out manual handling tasks as required (note: most tasks are automated).
* General yard duties including pallet maintenance.
* Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed by team members.
Requirements:
* Supervisory skills
* Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in packing and sealing.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Forklift licence/telehandler experience is essential.
* Good level of physical fitness
