Development Quality Engineer - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Location: Peterlee or Desford/Leicester, UK
Rate: £32.00 - £34.20 per hour
Duration: 12 Month Contract - Very Likely To Extend!
Work Arrangement: Onsite, 5 days/week
Travel: Up to 10%
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of key APQP elements, including:
Requirements Management
Boundary Diagrams
Interface Analysis
QFD, DFMEA, DVP&R
PFMEA and Process Control Plans
Partner with design teams to define product architecture and system interfaces.
Develop and cascade level-appropriate requirements across product hierarchies.
Deliver actionable design/process improvements and validation activities to mitigate risk.
Contribute to the concept, design, and analysis of complex components and systems.
Collaborate across functional teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively across varied audiences.
What You'll Bring
Required:
Minimum 5 years of Design Engineering experience.
Minimum 5 years of Supplier Quality Development Engineering experience.
Lead Training and Development Programmes
Preferred:
Strong expertise in APQP tools and methodologies .
Demonstrated analytical problem-solving and risk management capabilities.
Mechanical aptitude with ability to guide product concept development.
Proven leadership in cross-functional project settings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
Experience leading and executing engineering projects end-to-end.
