Overview
The Dales treatment and intervention team are recruiting a highly motivated Band 3 Community Support Worker/Trainee to join our multi-disciplinary team delivering adult planned care. You will support adults with mental health difficulties in the community and contribute to a service that offers assessment and a range of evidence-based treatments and interventions.
You will form an integral part of the team, working under supervision to deliver a high-quality service to the local population. This role is being offered at an exciting time of change and development. You must have the Right to Work in the UK to be considered; this role does not meet eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa.
Main duties of the job
* Support people and families using an evidence-based model and care pathway.
* Develop and facilitate group work interventions.
* Work with adults and their families; training and development opportunities will be provided in relevant areas.
* Work effectively within a team and also use initiative to work independently.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
It is beneficial to have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2. Candidates must have Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent and must complete the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within the probationary period (first 6 months in role).
If the required qualifications are not held, the candidate will be expected to enrol on the Healthcare Assistant Framework, including acquiring the Level 2 Diploma Health and Social Care and Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent to achieve the competencies. You will have a maximum of 2 years to complete this.

Person Specification
Essential qualifications
* Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent (or must be achieved within 2 years of commencement in post)
* Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 (or successful completion of the Trust's full HCA Framework, including Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy within 2 years)
* Care Certificate (or achieved within 12 weeks of commencement)
* Successful completion of Trust's full HCA Framework within 6-month probation
Essential experience
* Previous experience of working with people with mental health/social health needs or learning disabilities
* (Trainee post: no essential experience required)
Desirable experience
* Previous experience of working with people with mental/social health needs or learning disabilities
Knowledge

* Awareness of legal frameworks including mental health legislation (within agreed timescale)
