Job Title: Security Officer Reports to: On-Site Supervisor / Security Control Room / Manager (site dependent) Location: Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (site and shift dependent) Job Purpose: We are currently seeking professional, reliable, and proactive Security Officers to join our team. This role may involve working independently or as part of a team, depending on site and shift requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of people, property, and assets on-site while delivering a high standard of customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors. This position also includes responding to on-site emergencies and incidents as needed. Current Vacancies: Weekend Day Officer: Saturdays & Sundays | 07:00 - 19:00 Night Officer: 4-5 nights per week with 3 days off (typical pattern) / 19:00 - 07:00 Main Duties & Responsibilities: Provide a visible, professional, and approachable security presence at all times. Carry out internal and external patrols to ensure a safe and secure environment. Maintain a high standard of customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors. Log and report maintenance issues, security breaches, or unusual occurrences. Prevent unauthorised access and professionally manage any removals if necessary. Support emergency procedures and liaise with emergency services when required. Conduct fire alarm and equipment testing and report any faults. Monitor and respond to alarm activation's promptly and effectively. Operate CCTV in line with GDPR and client protocols. Conduct bag/property searches when requested by authorised personnel. Maintain control over keys, passwords, and access passes. Manage lost property in accordance with site procedures. Support site evacuations, including assisting with lift incidents. Uphold site safety and cleanliness standards for all security-related areas. Respond to disruptive or inappropriate behaviour and ensure a safe environment. Escort or move on any individuals who may pose a risk or act inappropriately. Support with staff training and new officer inductions when required. Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
