The Role
We’re looking for a dynamic Copywriter & Editor to craft sharp, inspiring, and high‑impact written content across all Science in Sport channels, including the PhD brand. From product launches and brand campaigns to athlete partnerships and digital content, you’ll help tell stories that connect emotionally, educate intelligently, and drive revenue. A modern, adaptable creative who thrives on collaboration and understands the power of both human storytelling and AI‑assisted ideation.
Key Responsibilities
 * Storytelling – deliver a consistent and compelling brand story across all channels.
 * Performance Monitoring – analyse content performance metrics and use insights to refine and improve copy.
 * Brand Voice and Tone – maintain a consistent brand voice and adapt tone and style for audience and platform.
 * Content Strategy and Planning – support the development and maintenance of a content calendar aligning with broader marketing goals.
Accountability
 * Develop compelling copy for brand campaigns, product launches, and athlete collaborations.
 * Write and contribute to website articles.
 * Write and edit copy for web, e‑commerce, paid media, email, social media, and packaging.
 * Use insights, SEO data, and performance metrics to refine copy and maximise engagement.
 * Craft punchy, scroll‑stopping headlines and CTAs for digital channels.
 * Conduct research on industry topics, target audiences, competitors, and trends.
 * Understand product or service to communicate its value effectively.
 * Collaborate with marketing, design, product, and sales teams to develop content strategies and campaigns.
 * Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas.
Capability
 * Proven experience as a copywriter within a consumer brand, creative agency, or sports marketing environment.
 * Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong understanding of tone and brand voice.
 * Proficiency in digital copy across multiple platforms (social, email, web, paid).
 * Experience or demonstrated interest in using AI tools for creative ideation, research, or drafting.
Performance
 * Conversion rates.
 * Website and social engagement metrics.
 * Revenue and commercial/sales‑based KPIs.
Attributes
 * Passion for sport, health & fitness, and performance culture.
 * Familiarity with e‑commerce environments and conversion‑driven copywriting.
 * Understanding of UX copy principles and writing for digital journeys.
 * Experience collaborating within cross‑functional marketing teams.

Employment Details
Job Type: Fulltime, Permanent
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5:30 pm
