Blue Arrow are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and vibrant nursery in Penrith, who are looking to appoint a passionate Nursery Cook on a permanent basis.

The Role
As Nursery Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing nutritious, delicious meals that support the health, wellbeing and development of young children. You'll play a vital role in the nursery day, ensuring every child enjoys balanced, home‑cooked food in a safe and caring environment.
Working hours
35 hours per week
8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities
* Preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks suitable for young children
* Designing varied menus that meet dietary, allergy and cultural requirements
* Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety
* Managing food stock, ordering supplies and minimising waste
* Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and fully compliant with regulations
* Working collaboratively with nursery staff to support children's wellbeing
About You
* Previous experience as a cook or chef (nursery, school, care or hospitality background welcome)
* A genuine interest in children's nutrition and healthy eating
* Knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and dietary requirements
* A positive, reliable and hands‑on approach
* Ability to work independently and manage your own kitchen
* Must hold or be willing to go through an enhanced child DBS check
