Family Worker\n Location: Reading\n Contract: Initial 3-Month Temporary Assignment\n Hours: 37 hours per week\n Rate: £20 per hour (Umbrella) (£15 PAYE an hour)\n\n About the Role Reading Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Family Worker to join our Family Help team on an initial 3-month assignment. You will play a key role in supporting families and delivering effective early help interventions, with a focus on achieving positive and sustainable outcomes for children and their carers.\n\n Key Responsibilities\nProvide 1:1 support and interventions to a caseload of families with varying levels of need\n\nLead inclusive and safe group activities within the children’s centre programme\n\nDevelop, monitor and review support plans and family assessments\n\nWork collaboratively within a multi-agency setting to ensure coordinated care and safeguarding\n\nMaintain accurate and timely records of all work undertaken\n\nRequirements\nA good general education (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, e.g., A-Levels)\n\nSubstantial experience working with children and young people across various settings\n\nProven experience working with families, parents, and carers\n\nDemonstrated experience in multi-agency collaborative work\n\nStrong understanding of safeguarding procedures and experience supporting families with complex needs\n\nAbility to complete thorough assessments, plans, and reviews to promote child and family welfare\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner passionate about early intervention and family support to make a real difference in the community.\n\n To Apply:\n If you meet the above criteria and are available for an immediate start, we’d love to hear from you.
