Associate Professor in Vascular ImmunologyJob Type: Full-Time.Starting Salary: Up to £82969 per annum + Fixed salary plus benefitsTo find out more about the job please click the ‘apply for job’ button to be taken to Imperial job site About the roleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Professor in Vascular Immunology within the Respiratory Division of the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI), Faculty of Medicine.

You will lead internationally competitive research in the field of vascular immunology and inflammation, spanning both respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.

What you would be doingYou will be based within the Respiratory Division in the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh building on the Hammersmith Hospital campus, joining an established team of researchers and clinician scientists.

You will be expected to develop your own research programme in vascular immunology, with a strong emphasis on the mechanisms involved in the progression of human respiratory and heart diseases.

Your research programme will integrate advanced imaging and spatial biology technologies, and they will horizon scan to keep abreast of new techniques.Duties will include:You will develop a broad range of research within the field of vascular immunology, respiratory disease.You will foster national and international scientific collaborations with other world-leading centresYou will teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.You will demonstrate excellent leadership skills with regards to individual performance, academic teams, the NHLI, Faculty, College and when participating in national/international initiatives.

What we are looking forPhD in Immunology or related field or equivalentExtensive research experienceStrong translational research integrating in vivo/in vitro findingsConsistent portfolio of publications as first and senior/corresponding authorExperience in preparing grant applicationsExperience in staff supervisionExperience in training Undergraduate and Postgraduate studentsA proven track record in securing external funding, i.e.
