Internal Applicants Only The Opportunity: Despatch Shift Manager Job Purpose: To manage both the operational and strategic requirements of the Despatch Department with the team of Shift Managers. Utilising a team of engaged and motivated operatives, ensure that the Department delivers optimum customer service to our customer base and third party partners, manage product wastage, H&S compliance and performance through a suite of KPI’s. What you will contribute Lead, develop and inspire the team of Shift Managers and operatives to deliver operational and customer service excellence. Ensures the team is adequately trained, has relevant PDPs, understands departmental KPIs and is able to act in a timely manner to positively influence performance. Lead the department by example championing the business and family values. Inspires commitment to the company, their services, and future success. Utilise and improve the current systems to manage operational KPI’s such as cost, service, quality. Delivering and clearly communicating business communications to the Shift Managers for onward communication to the wider team. Audit the departmental management of quality, food safety, hygiene and housekeeping through G.M.P. and the use of S.A.P. Ensuring all attendance, performance and disciplinary matters are dealt with in accordance with company procedures Management of SH&E policies, initiatives and site rules to ensure safe working practices are maintained and adhered to. What you will bring Essential Proven track record of performance delivery and delivery against targets, results orientated with the capability to analyse data. At least 4 years line management experience, preferably in a logistics environment, with demonstrable experience of building highly performing teams; motivating, coaching and developing individuals on PDP’ Experience in allocating work, managing resource levels, with a strong bias for prioritising operational decisions/actions based on key KPIs and schedules. Inspirational leadership with strong communication skills with the ability to prioritise effectively, make efficient decisions, and escalate where appropriate. Confidence in leading initiatives and business communication, with experience in implementing change through effective messaging and follow-through with the team. T. literate – be proficient in the use of MS Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Desirable SAP Knowledge and a good understanding of financial measures, controls and data.
