Qualified and experienced Senior Chemical Engineer
* A Chemical Engineering degree, as a minimum, is essential
* Relevant industrial manufacturing experience on a COMAH site is essential
* Development of new processes and improving existing ones is essential
* On-plant experience in commissioning and practical troubleshooting skills are essential
* Experience of DSEAR methodology is advantageous
* Experience of SIL and LOPA assessments is advantageous
* Relief system sizing & DIERS methodology experience is advantageous
In your role as Senior Chemical Engineer:
* Initiate, design, implement, and commission plant modification proposals to modify existing plant, including all relevant hazard assessments and HAZOPs.
* Determine the scope and extent of hazard assessments required for the process, perform calculations, advise on testing programs to gather further data, lead HAZOPs as needed, revise designs accordingly, and maintain the risk assessment record system.
* Ensure all chemical engineering work complies with statutory regulations and codes of practice.
* Collaborate with the Project Engineering section to develop plant design, layout, costing, and proposals for approval.
* Act as the chemical engineering expert on process improvement groups and project teams, and advise the research department on practical solutions for developing process routes for new and existing processes.
* Provide technical advice to other engineers, customers, contractors, and consultants on design, safety, materials of construction, and processing techniques.
* Lead projects with responsibility for expenditure, overall design, and achieving operational targets and performance.
* Organize design and commissioning work and resource requests to meet the production budget.
