Highways Development Officer needed in Gloucester Paying £40,777 per annum ref 5276871
Full time hours on a permanent basis
We are seeking a knowledgeable Highways Development Officer to provide expert advice on transport and highways matters in relation to planning applications and development proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engage in pre-application discussions with developers, consultants, and planning officers.
* Assess Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans.
* Provide timely recommendations on highways and transport issues, including mitigation and developer contributions.
* Represent the Highways Authority at planning committees, stakeholder meetings, and site visits.
* Instruct legal teams to prepare agreements with developers.
* Build strong relationships with internal teams, developers, and elected members.
* Prepare reports, briefing papers, and responses to planning queries.
* Conduct site inspections and surveys to validate transport appraisals.
* Prepare and present evidence for appeals and public inquiries.
* Support the Highways Legal Agreements team when required.
* Ensure compliance with policies on customer care, data protection, and health & safety.
