Job Title: Payroll Clerk (Temporary)
Location: Caterham
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and monthly payroll in line with company deadlines
- Input and verify employee data including new starters, leavers, and pay changes
- Calculate statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and holiday pay
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies
- Assist with PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions
- Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll accounts
- Respond to employee payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
- Support payroll audits and year-end processes (P45s, P60s, etc.)
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a payroll processing role (essential)
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- High attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain confidentiality
