The Mental Health Recovery Worker is a key rolewithin the Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support Service (DRPSS). The roleinvolves giving support to individuals living with mental illness on aone-to-one basis and through group support and also involves supporting andguiding volunteers to be successful in their roles within the team. The roleinvolves liaising with and facilitating access to other services on behalf ofservice users to meet individual requirements.
Please note - this is a fixed-term role until 31st March 2026, however the contract may be extended subject to funding.

To provide support through one-to-one and groupintervention to those experiencing mental ill health with the aim of self-managementand sustainment for a better quality of life.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1) Provide key-worker support toindividuals with mental illness, through one-to-one and group support.
2) To have the individuals needs at thefore at all times, working to the recovery model and using communication,motivation and coaching skills to support the service user to achieve theirgoals and aspirations.
3) Carry out assessments of service usersengaging with the service, prioritising needs effectively.
4) To be familiar with individualCare/Recovery Plans and support people who use our services in achieving theirgoals.
5) Liaise with other external agencies,mental health services, and community groups on behalf of service users.
6) Enable and encourage service users tolearn about and attend local services in their community, and facilitate accessto alternative services where required.
7) Encourage service users to recognise,understand, and manage factors that affect their mental wellbeing and physicalhealth.
8) Ensure people are at the centre of thesupport they receive.
9) Carry out individual safety and supportplanning within organisational and legislative requirements.
10) Work with service users to develop,review, monitor and adapt support and safety plans.
11) Ensure effective incident and complaintrecording, including reporting on Sphera.
12) Support and guide volunteers to besuccessful in their role.
13) Monitor and report to senior staff onthe effectiveness of support delivery and contract performance.
14) Participate in monitoring requirementsof the service by providing statistical and qualitative information onactivities, success stories, and outcomes achieved.
15) Engage with community events, meetings,and forums to promote the service.
16) To attend meetings and training wherenecessary.
17) Ensure all activities meetorganisational values and standards and are compliant with relevant regulatoryframeworks (e.g., safeguarding, GDPR).

5) The post holder will berequired to travel frequently across Erewash, Derbyshire, therefore a fulldriving license and access to your own car is required. The post holder willalso need to be flexible in their approach to working from our office or home asappropriate/ required.
6) The post requiresflexible working, which may include some evening and weekend work on occasion.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of providing support to people with a mental illness; or experience of providing care within a relevant social care setting, in a paid or voluntary capacity
* Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and embedding the ethos of recovery into practice
* Experience of making comprehensive assessments of an individuals situation and needs
* Experience of developing, implementing, and reviewing risk management and support plans
* Good knowledge of the services and support available to individuals with mental health problems within Derby
Qualifications
* English and Mathematics at GCSE Grade C or equivalent
* QCF Diploma or NVQ level 3 in Care or Certificate in Community Mental Healthcare (or working towards) or an equivalent qualification.
Other Job requirements
* Hold a full driving licence and have access to own car to deliver the requirements of the job description
