Overview
Lead Bricks work to secure spaces for community and creativity across the West of England, and deliver programmes of community responsive PublicArt. This is a new senior role to lead the strategy and delivery of Bricks Public Art and Creative Infrastructure Agency, growing both into sustainable and impactful enterprises. You will oversee strategic planning, partnership development, and securing and contracting new work and spaces. You will also shape new programmes and document the tools and methodologies that underpin our delivery. You will line-manage our public art producers and consultants (freelance or in-house) and sit on the Senior Management Team alongside the CEO, Head of Finance, Head of Operations, and Head of Programme (St Anne’s). This role will drive the planning and delivery of high-quality, community-responsive programmes, supporting Bricks’ mission through public art commissions across the West of England. Working with the CEO, team, and board, you will set the creative direction and lead its implementation.
Responsibilities
* Lead the strategy and delivery of Bricks Public Art and Creative Infrastructure Agency.
* Oversee strategic planning, partnership development, and securing and contracting new work and spaces.
* Shape new programmes and document the tools and methodologies that underpin delivery.
* Line-manage public art producers and consultants (freelance or in-house).
* Collaborate with the Senior Management Team (alongside the CEO, Head of Finance, Head of Operations, and Head of Programme) to guide organizational direction.
* Drive planning and delivery of high-quality, community-responsive programmes and public art commissions across the West of England.
* Set the creative direction in partnership with the CEO, team, and board and lead its implementation.
Qualifications and Experience
* Five years of public art programming experience.
* Four years of experience at St Anne’s House.
* Strong track record in strategic planning, partnership development, and project delivery within arts and public space contexts.
* Experience in growing and sustaining cultural enterprises and cross-artform/cross-sector collaborations.
* Ability to secure spaces and work through planning conditions and S106 processes (as referenced in our development plan).
Our intention is to acquire multiple new spaces over the next 24 months via planning conditions and S106.
