*About Henry Colbeck Limited*

Henry Colbeck Limited is one of the UK’s leading foodservice and wholesale distributors, supplying independent takeaway establishments across the North of England and Scotland with high-quality food, packaging and catering supplies. With annual turnover exceeding £90 million, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, strong supplier partnerships and long-standing customer relationships.

As the business continues to grow, we are investing in our data, reporting and digital capabilities to support better decision making, improve operational efficiency and enhance commercial performance.

*The Role*

We are seeking a commercially minded Digital & Commercial Analyst to take ownership of data reporting, analysis and insight across the business.

This is a hands-on role at the heart of the commercial function, focused on improving the way the business uses data to make decisions. You will be responsible for developing reporting tools, analysing performance across customers, products and sales channels, and identifying opportunities to improve margin, efficiency and growth.

Working closely with the Commercial Director, sales team, and wider management team, you will play a key role in ensuring the business has clear, accurate and actionable insight to support decision making. Alongside core analytical responsibilities, you will also support the ongoing development of the company’s eCommerce platform, using data to improve performance, customer experience and online sales.

The role is intentionally varied, combining structured reporting, ad hoc analysis and project-based improvement work. We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, detail-oriented and proactive – someone who takes ownership, challenges assumptions and looks for ways to improve how the business operates.

*Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:*

· Develop and maintain business reporting and dashboards using Power BI and other analytical tools.

· Analyse sales performance, customer behaviour, product trends and margin performance.

· Take ownership of regular reporting outputs and ensure accuracy and efficiency.

· Support leadership with ad hoc analysis, pricing reviews and commercial decision support.

· Identify trends, risks and opportunities within the company’s data.

· Improve reporting processes and reduce manual data handling across departments.

· Support project management to system implementations, changes or upgrades, ensuring activities are delivered to time, quality and scope expectations.

· Working with business areas to provide data reporting support, including requirements gathering, process mapping and modelling, ensuring solutions align to operational needs and user expectations.

· Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and system issues.

· Support the development and performance of the company's eCommerce platform.

· To monitor and analyse eCommerce performance, providing insight and recommendations to improve conversion, average order value and customer interaction with the platform.

· Identify opportunities for automation using tools such as Power Automate and Power Apps and put plans in place to execute.

· Build strong cross-departmental relationships and promote effective use of data.

*Skills required*

· 2+ years’ experience in data or commercial analysis.

· Power BI skills (including some knowledge of data modelling and DAX).

· Strong Excel capability.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Commercial awareness of sales, pricing and margins.

· Excellent organisational and communication skills.

· Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Proactive and self-motivated approach.

*Additional*

· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would be advantageous.

· Exposure to eCommerce platforms is beneficial but not essential.

· Knowledge of Azure or cloud-based data environments is desirable.

· You will be expected to comply with all Company policies and procedures and operate within relevant certification standards.

*Benefits*

· £35,000-£42,000 annual salary depending on experience

· 5% matched pension contributions

· Possibility of hybrid working following a successful induction and training period

· Company share scheme - employees own 10% of the business

· 22 days annual leave (ex. Bank holidays) rising by 1 day for every 2 years of service up to a maximum of 25 days per annum

· Death in Service and Income Protection policies

· Cycle to work scheme

· Employee discount

· Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
