Offer description

Locum Consultant in Otolaryngology (Paediatric Otolaryngology)

Applications are invited for a full time (10PA) 12 month fixed-term post based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH). We are interested in candidates that have undergone a comprehensive ear, nose and throat training and who have an interest in Paediatric Otolaryngology. A fellowship in Paediatric Otolaryngology would be desirable but not essential, since we would support development in Paediatric ENT, particularly Paediatric Otology, once in post.

The ENT Departments based at NNUH and the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (JPUH) have recently been joined under the Norfolk and Waveney Acute Services Integration Project (ASIP) with NNUH being appointed as the lead provider. It is expected that there will be increasing collaboration of ENT service covering the Norfolk and Waveney area.

The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust are now working in partnership as the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group.

Main duties of the job

The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.

The appointee will be participating in a 1 in 8 weekday on-calls, and 1 in 11 weekends on-call.

The appointee will be a member of the Consultant Staff Committee and be expected to serve on this committee.

Further, the appointee will support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, whereby all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence and demonstrate behaviours that support and encourage an inclusive culture.
