Are you an experienced Lawyer looking for a new challenge within a supportive and forward-thinking local authority? West Berkshire Council is seeking a Lawyer experienced in Adult Social care to join our Legal and Democratic Service, reporting to the Principal Lawyer (People).
This is a unique post to transform the approach to continuing health care arrangements and support Adult Social care with the transition. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our residents and contribute to the success of our vibrant community and join a supportive team.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality legal advice and support on a wide range of matters primarily relating to Adult Social care.
* Manage a diverse caseload, including but not limited to:
* Adult social care
* Safeguarding
Qualifications and skills
* Qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive with relevant post-qualification experience
* Sound knowledge of relevant areas of law, particularly in relation to Adult Social care
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
* Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
Contract and hours
* Fixed term for one year from start date (time-limited project).
* We are ideally looking to offer the full number of hours advertised; less hours may be considered if they meet the role and service requirements, as determined by the recruiting manager.
