Primary Electrical Engineer
To meet an increasing workload and support the development and growth of our company, Kelvin Power have a permanent position for a Primary Electrical Engineer.
Kelvin Power provides a wide range of engineering consultancy services on major infrastructure projects in the Energy Sector and has a 40-strong team of experienced multi-disciplinary engineers and technicians delivering solutions to projects across the UK and ROI.
Responsibilities
* Development and mentoring of design team
* Delivering technically demanding projects, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery
* Production of primary plant layouts and designs in accordance with DNO and NG standards
* Production of drawings and designs relating to HV substation layouts including earthing layouts & details, busbar and clamps, cable routing, and mechanical interlocking
* Producing conceptual and detailed substation design in accordance with customer specifications
* Create Primary Plant models and drawings for other disciplines to work on
* Meet project requirements in collaboration with other disciplines
* Review project files for compliance with Standards/protocols; implement best practice procedure
* Liaising with Clients, answering technical queries
* Liaising with Sub-contractors, raising PO’s, etc.
* Attend site visits and client meetings in the UK and Europe
* Hold the responsibility of project management of a portfolio of projects within Kelvin Power to maximise revenue and margin (E-result)
Key Skills and Experience
* Minimum of five years industry experience in HV Primary plant designs
* Experience of delivering infrastructure projects to challenging deadlines
* Excellent detailing skills
* Knowledge of industry standards and ability to translate requirements to CAD
* Able to work on own initiative
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering (Chartered Engineer is highly desirable)
