The procurement team has an exciting new role for a Receipt and Delivery Assistant and is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team.
This role involves ensuring timely deliveries of goods across the Trust to prevent delays or cancellations to clinics/procedures. You will be responsible for correctly receipting orders on the Trust systems to facilitate prompt invoice payments. Additionally, you will maintain accurate records of goods received, delivered, and returned for traceability purposes.
You will need to plan and coordinate the effective delivery of medical and non-medical consumables to wards and departments, meeting customer expectations. You will contribute to delivering a highly effective, compliant, and customer-focused receipt and delivery service that meets the Trust's procurement requirements and supports the Trust's Cost Improvement Plan (CIP).

The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service and communication skills, as you will need to influence internal customers and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver a comprehensive Receipt & Delivery service, ensuring orders are correctly receipted on the Trust systems promptly to facilitate invoice payments.
2. Provide scheduled and emergency deliveries across the Trust to prevent delays or cancellations.
3. Maintain accurate records of goods received, delivered, and returned for traceability.
4. Ensure quantity and condition of parcels match courier records; report shortages or damages.
5. Handle special requirements for orders, such as temperature-controlled items and timed deliveries, with urgency.
6. Check received goods against purchase orders and report discrepancies.
7. Liaise with the Procurement Team regarding order issues or queries.
8. Deliver goods in accordance with scheduled timelines, especially from NHS Supply Chain.
9. Distribute goods appropriately and obtain proof of delivery where necessary.
10. Keep signed receipts and delivery documentation organized and up to date.
11. Manage collection and return of Supply Chain cages and other returns.
12. Respond courteously to queries and escalate issues as needed.
13. Complete mandatory Trust training.
14. Assist with the safe receipt, dispatch, and movement of stock, following health and safety procedures.
15. Use personal protective equipment appropriately and maintain department cleanliness and security.
16. Perform any other duties reasonably required by the line manager or Procurement Officer.
