JRS Associates have partnered up with an established precision engineering company in Standish to recruit a skilled Quality Inspector to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical inspection experience and hands-on CMM operation skills to join a business known for its quality, precision, and investment in people. The Successful Quality Inspector - Package: * £32,000 – £35,000 per annum * Shift : Dayshift – Monday to Thursday 7:30am–4:00pm, Friday 7:30am–11:30am * Early Friday finish * Excellent working environment and supportive quality team * Long-term job security with opportunities for development The Successful Quality Inspector - Key Responsibilities: * Perform in-process, final, and goods-in inspections using precision measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, height gauges, etc.) * Operate CMM machines to inspect precision-engineered components to drawing tolerances (training on specific software can be provided) * Verify conformity of components against engineering drawings and technical specifications * Record inspection results and maintain accurate documentation for traceability and audits * Raise non-conformance reports and liaise with production to resolve issues quickly * Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and contribute to PPAP and other documentation where required * Conduct visual inspections for surface finish, labelling, and packaging integrity * Ensure calibration and care of measuring equipment and inspection tools * Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements on the shop floor * Maintain a clean, organised, and quality-focused work environment The Successful Quality Inspector - Skills & Qualifications: * Previous experience in component inspection within an engineering or manufacturing environment * Proven ability to operate CMMs (Mitutoyo, Hexagon, or similar systems – training can be given) * Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and materials * Skilled in the use of mechanical inspection tools (micrometres, verniers, gauges) * Excellent attention to detail and methodical working style * Knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g. ISO 9001) * Confident communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team * IT literacy for reporting and documentation purposes Apply now!
