Job Summary
NUPAS is expanding. The post holder will work to provide the highest standards of patient care and perform competencies as required as a Receptionist/Administrator/health care support worker. The successful applicant must be prepared to travel throughout all of our clinics across Greater London. You will be required to work one Saturday a month in our Kilburn clinic and deliver a supportive and non-judgemental service to patients and their supporters attending NUPAS. Co-ordinating the patient pathway throughout the patient’s time during the clinic. The applicant will undertake and achieve training specific to the role, including the care certificate and will support with relevant clinical procedures once appropriate training has been provided.
Service Delivery
* Deliver a consistent, patient-centred, caring service.
* Ensure all patient case notes are processed in a consistent and timely fashion in line with monthly invoicing requirements.
* Liaise with clinical and medical staff regarding patient and medical queries.
* Co-ordinate patient treatment pathway throughout time in the clinic.
* Co-ordinate and facilitate the delivery of patient prescriptions and legal documents.
* Prepare and complete patient notes.
* Remote administrator duties and referrals to external providers or NHS Hospitals.
* Undertake cashiering duties.
* Support patients to make informed choices and provide a high standard of customer service.
* Work in harmony with all personnel and communicate in an open and courteous manner with patients and colleagues.
* Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post and necessary training.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Assist colleagues during the sensitive examination and treatment of patients, treating them with respect and promoting dignity and comfort.
* Provide chaperone support as required and recognise when patients’ condition deteriorates, escalating as required.
* Stock clinical areas and maintain the clinical/administrative environment to a high standard; order and receive stock as necessary.
* Ensure infection prevention policies are adhered to and maintain confidentiality of information on and off duty.
* Understand the principles of confidentiality, effective verbal and written communication, and appropriate documentation.
* Theatre support as required and identify/escalate safeguarding concerns to senior colleagues.
* Set up clinical areas, stock rotation, and assist with cleaning/restocking after use.
* Handle medications in line with standard operation procedures and safe working practices; COSHH and PPE usage; maintain infection control procedures.
* Assist with handling hazardous waste and comply with Health and Safety policy.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential: Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE A-C, NVQ2) in a health-related subject or Business Administration, or a good standard of general education to GCSE level. Care Certificate standards to be met within 12 weeks of commencing employment. Support a woman’s right to request an abortion.
* Desirable: Care Certificate.
Experience
* Essential: Recent reception and general clerical work experience or healthcare assistant experience. Ability to identify and escalate safeguarding concerns; experience communicating with people in various situations; understanding of the Data Protection Act and confidentiality.
* Proven ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); strong interpersonal and communication skills in English; ability to work independently and in a team; flexible to meet service needs and travel requirements; pro-choice is essential.
