Reports to: Head of HR
Salary: £30,378 per annum
Working Hours: 36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The Role and its Purpose:
Working closely with the Senior HR Officer and HR Coordinator and liaising with our Payroll Officer, you will be central in supporting the provision of a professional and efficient HR service.
The role is very varied with an opportunity to be creative and make your own mark.
You will be responsible for the HR and training administration requirements of the College, including recruitment, training coordination and maintenance of the HR database.
If you are highly efficient and able to develop great working relationships with others, this position could be for you.
You will act as a point of contact for all recruitment and HR related queries. Great attention to detail and being thoroughly organised is essential.
If you have experience of using Asana, Canva and databases that would be really useful.
Ideally you will have some experience of HR, but more importantly, you will be able to juggle various administrative tasks and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment
* Support all aspects of the recruitment process for staff including: producing high quality recruitment materials, placing adverts, arranging recruitment and interviews.
Compliance
* Support the creation of accurate job descriptions, draft employment contracts and contractual amendments, ensuring consistent application of best practice across the College.
* Coordinate DBS & Right to Work checks.
* Provide administrative support for meetings.
Employee Records
* Ensure accurate and up-to-date record keeping on the College's HR database (Cascade).
* Provide onboarding support to the HR Team.
* Manage the accurate recording of sickness absence on the HR Database in an accurate manner. Monitor absence levels using the Bradford Factor.
* Updating the Telephone Directory on the Intranet.
Training
* Support in arranging short courses
* Issue mandatory training to all new starters.
* Ensure mandatory training is completed by all staff.
__Events
* Assist with the advertising and planning of events run by the HR Team.
General
* Respond to general HR queries.
* Undertake other duties which may arise due to the nature of the role.
The Person – is this you?
We expect that you will have significant administration experience.
You will be dynamic and passionate and have excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to build effective professional relationships with a variety of people.
We want someone who matches the inspiration, creativity, energy and ambition of our close-knit team and wider community.
If you've worked in Higher Education – great, but that is not a deal-breaker. More important is your ability to demonstrate how you are proactive and able to coordinate multiple projects.
You will be well organised and able to deliver on commitments, with exceptional IT skills and able to work with little supervision.
You will be able to prioritise effectively and will have strong attention to detail.
Part of your role will involve coordinating our wellbeing programme and we look forward to your ideas on how we can keep this relevant and up-to-date.
