As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you'll be a valued member of the classroom team—helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning. You'll support the class teacher, work with individual students or small groups, and make a lasting impact on young learners. Responsibilities of a Primary Teaching Assistant : Assist teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons. Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with additional learning needs. Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment. Encourage pupil development in literacy, numeracy, and social skills. Support behaviour management and classroom routines. Help children meet their learning milestones through consistent support. Primary TA Requirements: Previous experience working in a primary school or with children as a Primary Teaching Assistant or similar. CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistance (desirable but not essential). A degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field is desirable but not essential. A caring, adaptable, and proactive approach to working with children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
