The Wonderfield Group has recently been acquired by Zensho Holdings, a leading food service company in Japan. The combined businesses include restaurants, factories, sushi kiosks, and a successful cut‑fruit line, Snowfruit, generating annual sales of $2.5 billion and EBITDA of over $140 million.
Reporting to: Group Chief Development Officer. The role is based in the Greater London area and supports sustainability initiatives for the YO! and Taiko Food brands.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams (Executive, Supply Chain, Product Development, Marketing, Quality Assurance/Technical Operations) to develop and implement sustainability initiatives.
* Champion sustainability knowledge within the organization and advocate for change in business decisions.
* Research or review regulatory, technical, or market issues related to sustainability, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
* Support the implementation of the ESG strategy in focus areas: Responsible Sourcing, Plastics/Paper & Packaging, Food Waste Reduction, Greenhouse Gas Emissions & Energy Use.
* Manage and analyze sustainability data sets, collate and interpret results for business decision support.
* Engage with external stakeholders, government agencies, and non‑profit organisations to advance sustainability goals.
Qualifications
* Post‑secondary education in sustainability or a related discipline.
* 1‑3 years of experience in a sustainability role.
* Knowledge of environmental, social, and governance issues and ability to interpret them for a business environment.
* Database management experience, with the ability to review, tabulate, and analyse multiple data sets.
* Experience in the Food & Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods industries is an asset.
* Energetic, resourceful, hands‑on individual with a proactive bias for customer service.
* Strong ethics and a reputation for integrity.
* Excellent support planning, organisational, problem‑solving, and project‑management skills.
* Superior time‑management and multi‑tasking abilities, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
* Self‑motivated, agent of change who can communicate at all organisational levels.
* Independent and self‑disciplined.
* Full‑time, maternity cover for 12 months starting January 2024.
