We are currently looking for a part time medical receptionist / administrator for 22.5 hours per week to join our existing hardworking friendly team. The practice has a list size of approximately 12,500 patients. The team consists of 8 GP's supported by an ANP, Practice Nurse, NHS Pharmacist's and an experienced reception and administrative team.
The working days will be Monday, Thursday and Friday 8.30-5pm but must be flexible to cover to 6pm if someone is off sick or on annual leave.
The successful candidate will ;
Work under pressure in an extremely busy practice reception, multi tasking, answering the telephone and dealing with patients face to face.
Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Have a professional approach to the role.
Work to protocol, training will be given, you will be open and receptive to coaching and mentoring.
Have good computer skills and willing to learn different IT systems.
Enjoy assisting members of the public and enjoy working with them.
Be a team player, work as part of a team, but also be able to work independently.
Have a flexible approach to work and must be able to work extra hours at times of unexpected staff absence.
Have an understanding of the data protection act, GDPR and patient confidentiality.
Previous experience in a medical reception or similar role with knowledge of Vision and Docman are preferred. The role is fast paced and varied and will include answering the phones, signposting patients, scanning, processing prescription requests, communicating test results, coding patient records, audio typing and other general office tasks.
