An exciting opportunity has arisen for three enthusiastic and motivated Senior Clinical Coders to join our highly experienced and friendly Clinical Coding team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust in Cornwall. You will have the opportunity to engage with clinicians, validate clinical coding and become the lead coder for designated specialties.
You will need to be able to demonstrate an extensive understanding of both ICD-10 and OPCS 4 classifications, complex coding rules and the application of national clinical coding standards.
As a department we can offer clinical coders a comprehensive training and development structure through strong leadership, an in-house training programme delivered through a Terminology and Classifications Delivery Service Approved Clinical Coding Trainer, and CPD for clinical coders and ACC coders, developing existing skills and learning new ones.
We have 3 full-time vacancies available. Remote or hybrid working will be considered for the successful candidates. Our Trust is currently transitioning from a hybrid to an electronic way of working with our Electronic Patient Record (EPR) due to go live in June 2026, this will enable to increase the remote working options in the future.

Key responsibilities include:
* Carrying out complex clinical coding on a daily basis.
* Liaising with clinicians to improve documentation for clinical coding purposes.
* Dealing with complex coding queries.
* Participating in clinical coding audits and data validation.
* Mentoring trainee & less experienced clinical coders.
